How to accept payment right in chat: LiqPay, monobank, or a QR invoice
A customer who’s just agreed on a product with your bot is ready to pay right now. If they have to leave the chat and go to your website to pay, some will put it off “until later.” Here’s how to take payment in the same chat window and choose the right method.

Why payment needs to happen in the same chat
Every extra step between “I’ll take it” and “Paid” is a chance for a call, work, or another store to distract the buyer. When the bot places the order and immediately offers a way to pay, the buyer doesn’t need to find the cart on your website and fill out the form again.
What payment methods are available in LEO Chat
Once the customer has provided their name, phone number, and delivery method, the bot shows payment buttons. You’ll see as many options as you’ve connected:
- Card payment — via LiqPay or monobank. The bot sends a payment link, and the payment is recorded automatically.
- QR code payment — an invoice to your IBAN with a QR code that meets NBU standards. The buyer scans it in their banking app.
- Cash on delivery — payment upon receipt; these orders are immediately marked “Confirmed”.
The card payment button appears only after you add your own LiqPay or monobank keys, and the QR option appears once you’ve entered your payment details. Payments go through your payment service account or directly to your bank account.
Card: LiqPay or monobank
Connect both services in your account under “Payments” using your own keys: a public and private key for LiqPay, or a token for monobank. Once saved, secret keys are no longer shown in your account. LiqPay offers a test mode so you can check payments before launch.
Here’s how it looks to the buyer: the bot sends an order card with a payment button, the buyer pays on the payment service’s page, and LEO Chat receives confirmation and marks the order as paid. Your manager doesn’t need to check the statement. If the item isn’t right, you can refund a card payment from your account in just a few clicks.
Which of the two should you choose? Go with the service you already have an agreement with: the difference for shoppers is small, while fees and terms depend on your agreement with LiqPay or monobank.
QR invoice: when you don’t have card acquiring
If you don’t have an agreement for accepting card payments, start with a QR invoice. In your account, enter the recipient (sole proprietor (FOP) or LLC), IBAN, and tax ID or company registration code — and the bot will send buyers an invoice with a QR code. The buyer opens their bank’s app and scans the code; the payment details and amount are filled in automatically.
Important: with QR payments, the bank doesn’t send an automatic confirmation. Once the payment arrives, click “Paid” in your dashboard. The order will be marked as paid, and the buyer will receive a message.
A quick guide to choosing
- You have an agreement with LiqPay or monobank — connect your card: payments are confirmed automatically, and refunds are issued from your account.
- No payment processing account — start with a QR invoice: you only need your payment details, but you’ll confirm incoming payments manually.
- Your customers are used to paying on delivery — keep cash on delivery alongside online payment, so buyers can choose.
You can use both methods: connect a card and QR code at the same time.
If the buyer hasn’t paid
The customer may simply have gotten distracted. Turn on “Payment reminders” in “Orders”: if an order paid by card or QR remains unpaid, the bot will send your message and the order card with a “Pay” button once, after the set time (30 minutes by default). Overnight, from 21:00 to 09:00, the reminder waits until morning. No reminder is sent for cash on delivery. For carts abandoned before checkout, see our article on bringing customers back to abandoned carts.
Payment and delivery, all in one
A paid order appears in your dashboard. If Nova Poshta is connected, you can create shipping waybills automatically or after a manager approves them. Learn how it works on the chatbot with Nova Poshta page. Chat payments are available on the Start plan; see the pricing page for details.
